How to Ask Questions With Ankle Blocks
We're going to talk about four different approaches to the sciatic nerve. They all have their little advantages and disadvantages. The popliteal approach is of course a popliteal block, in the name of raising the leg on some pillows or blankets that are specifically designed for this procedure. And here we are perhaps a little bit more on the aggressive side where we consider more of a superficial block. Patient refusal, local infection, then anything that may have increased risk beyond our less than 1% chance of bleeding infection nerve damage.
