Dan O'Brien: There is a sense for me in which I am much more interested in combative argument with my wife than kind of withdrawal. And this brings to mind a term that our friend, Kathy Lorsell coined, which is arousal structures. We could give the term that Kathy's given to it, arousal structures. He says putting words to that is 50% of the way to healing. The process of coming to name does create relief, but does it at least initially create more complication? he asks.
