Is This Worth It?
It's a question that people always have of modern society, like, is this worth it? Because on the one hand, we know that industrialization got us out of the malthusian trap. And ultimately, you know, it may just have a natural end point, which will have a cost as well. But it may be te that the psychological adjustment which the working classes are visibly making is the best they could make in the circumstances. They have neither turned revolutionary, nor lost their self respect. Merely they have kept their tempers and settled down to make the best of things on e fish ant chip standard.
