The Southern Union and the Rural Peasantry

The southern groups were not closet markists, they had more faith in the rural peasantry than the northern union did. They still believed that the future of russia was agrarian socialism. The failure of the going to the people should not be taken as permanent proof that a revolutionary army would never come marching out of rural countryside. But now there were two new classes who provided an excellent opportunity to focus recruitment, propaganda and education efforts on the peasants.
