The Importance of Resilience in School
Patch has very much some motor planning differences and so it took a lot of a lot of work to build that core and that strength in his body. He can now ride his own bicycle and so if we look at the example of using strengths and interests, an initial strength for Patch's interest was the love of movementWe turned it into something for him so that now if he falls off the bike so to speak he's more likely to get back on the bike because he's good at it and he keen on it. If I could turn back the clock and I could start again from day one I'd be less stressed and less worried about starting behavioral programs that were concentrating on his deficits
