I did not hear any evil West plotting to destroy Russia, writes Peter Bergen. The closest Putin got was when he said that Russia would achieve its goals in Ukraine step by step. If anyone within Russia wanted to hear stories of success and victories, they were none, says Bergen. He adds the notion that Russia was under some kind of military threat from Ukraine or anywhere else was absurd.
