i wanted to become a manager because, like you mention, it seemed like the reasonable choice to climb up. But when i found my career coaching, what is what i'm doing right now, it's so much more fulfilling. I know some softer engineers that climbed the ladder and then went back to softer engineering cause they were like, "I don't want my calendar to look like meetings all day long"
