Church wanted to use the dining room at Downing Street an awful lot but obviously it was bombed so they used to cook in the annex which is now the first floor of treasury building. Georgeena always said that she looked upon her time with churchill as her war work and she used to tell a beautiful story about him giving his v-day speech. She also talked about having a number of occasions where he would show humanity by pointing out those boys who didn't come off the wall or something like that. He even says he had premonition from the heavens or something about when bombs were about to fall sirens are going.
