The Importance of a National DNA Database

Connor was suspected of committing eight rapes and sexual assaults in his home area south Yorkshire. DNA results later shown he was not responsible for these crimes. But the DNA also showed he was guilty of one other sexual attack, a just horrendous, horrendous attack. Sandra's murder highlighted the need for a national DNA database to hold genetic fingerprints of sex offenders. And it was directly because of Sandra's murder that a national DNA Database was indeed established.
