The Balance Between Observing and Being Part of It
When she was growing up in the U.S., LZ Granderson said he liked to be an observer of what was going on around him. That became a definition of kind of being a journalist: "I'm going to look at stuff and I'm going to report to you" He says there are so many different definitions of 'observing' that it can't be just one thing or two things. It has to be all of those things, otherwise how could you possibly function?
