Tiwo ponders what he calls the perspective of the ancestor. Profound change can happen quickly, but often that sudden change happens after long logging, seemingly hopeless struggle. One response to that kind of time line is fatalism: My measly efforts won't bring a just world in my lifetime. But tio argues for the posite, the perspective of an ancestor who looks beyond her own lifetime.
