I got it wrong because I had been obsessed with how horrible Iraq was when I was there. And because you couldn't imagine anything else, you tend to believe the worst thing about the regime. So all these reports from not just the CIA, but intelligence agencies throughout the West. That he was hiding weapons. It was easy to believe if you knew intimately the regime as I did.
