The Early Church

Early Christians were observant Jews, continuing to meet in synagogues and follow the daily prayers. When new believers became part of the church they were initiated by a threefold process. The apostles worked many miracles in the name of Christ; even Peter's shadow was enough to heal a person. This ideal state did have one rather infamous hiccup: A wealthy Christian couple named Ananias and Sephira sold a piece of property but only gave part of the prophet to the church. They dropped dead after being confronted about their deception.
