CHAPTER

Nonlinear Transformations - What's a Knob?

Boxing Cox defined a family of nonlinear transformations that you can think of as being variations on one particular characteristic, one parameter. And turning that knob doesn't get you to every possible non linear transformation there is, but it gets you to a really wide variety of them and they're ones that help to address these problems. They also propose a Bayesian method for estimating the optimal Lambda.
