The Different Natures of Philosophy in the Islamic World
In many Muslim societies it stimulated the reformers to what I would call anthropologize the understanding of religion. In general we can say that in each country mainstream political philosophy has clearly been marked by state ideology. Still there have been some clear common features too. Since the late 17th of the last century there is a new field that might be labelled philosophy of Turath. It started in Lebanon and Syria with Jose Muru and Priyep Tizini, among others. Muhammad Abed al-Jabri from Morocco as its known renowned representative. His works are widespread apparently also in Indonesia.
