The Role of the Drug Trade in Terrorism
There's no real substantial evidence to suggest organizations like al-qaeda or ISIS fund their activities and their violence through through the drug trade. One exception of course is the FARC the Colombian rebel group because of its location in rural areas of Columbia does fund its activities in part through cocaine cultivation and production. The DEA started doing once they got funding for narco terrorism is they would take undercover agents or more commonly undercover informants and have them pose as as FARC officials.
