The Untrustworthy Character in Mission Impossible

With the exception of Finn Rizelle, like everyone seems untrustworthy. And so that creates this constant tension. I think it's a great tool to create internal antagonism when there isn't like an external antagonist and on screen. Mission impossible does this a lot. Ethan Hunt is constantly forced to work with people who were previously on another spy against him or were previously on the opposite side of his mission. That leads to like every one of those missions being like, which one of these people is going to turn to the other side? It's really a really great writing technique.
