The Tumbler Lock

Tumbler locks were used in the greek and roman world before the end of the first millennium. Long keys made it harder for lock pickers to, i don't know, manipulate with an illicit or dummy object. These locks ere generally part of the door which has existed a larger size anyway. And we'll get into some of the factors into the story of locks in a bit.
