The Implications of Global Warming
The 19 81 paper by nassa scientists attracted a lot of interest within the scientific community, but it did not have much of an impact on the public or politicians. By 19 88, the effects of global warming were becoming clear. The first five months of that year were warmer than any other on record. Professor hanson had given evidence to senate committees before. He decided that this time he would stick his neck out and given an ambiguous warning of the dangers of greenhouse gases.
