Dividend Stocks - Is There a Reversal?

I wonder how the reversal and trend around share buybacks might impact dividend investing. Traditional finance would argue that there should be no difference to the end investor, whether it's a company paying out of dividend or reducing its shares outstanding with the same amount of dollars. I think after we get past this year where we're going to go into that tax event, I don't think it'll have a huge impact just being that it is so low. It could sway more of these management teams on moving some of those dollars more towards investing.
