Alphabet said there were more than 5 million subscribers to YouTube TV in July. So you would need to sign up all of those people and then some to reach a break even point with this investment. I do think they'll get more subscribers than direct TV ever did, but the big players are not on prime time channels yet. It just launched that Google is willing to overpay for stuff like this because it's making this into a real thing.
