The Author of Sin Problem and Theological Determinism Problem
The authorial analogy shows clearly that they come apart. The problem of theological determinism is like saying, if God decrees all of my specific actions, then what are we going to say about freewheel? That's why Shakespeare didn't kill Duncan Macbeth did that. If you look at first person accounts by authors, it doesn't always seem like they have the kind of total control over their creation. I cite comments by science fiction authors Ursula Le Guin and N.K. Jemisin to support this claim. But it's also something that's been explored a bit by Sam Liebens in his fantastic book, The Principles of Judaism.
