Belle's Life Affirming Moment
Belle Boyd was 17 years old when the Union army invaded Martinsburg, Virginia. She used her charm to talk with soldiers and get information from them. When she overheard plans for an assault on the Confederate army, she wrote down everything that she had heard. Her notes were sent to Stonewall Jackson and General P.G.T. Beauregard. But word of her activities got out and they went all the way to her father. Belle fled back to Martinsburg and continued her spying antics.
