How Do You Catalogue Transformations?

Group theory was invented in the 18 thirties by a chap called everist galois um and e. The idea is to catalogue possible transformations that you can make on things like cubes or hexagons drawn in a plane, or any of these kinds of things. And when you combine those transformations together, eventually you can get the rubix tube to go back to where it started from again. It's an s u three cross s u two cross u one, gage theory.
