The best directors I would say always have a very clear idea of what they want the music to achieve but then they let you figure out how to achieve it best. Sometimes people have a really clear idea ofwhat they want or if not the execution like the style, what they want. We're gonna score it as if it was this authentic biopic that that makes us feel all of these emotions in a non-joke way and therefore it will accentuate every joke around it in the movie.
