The Numenorians Created the Dramatic Tension

The Numenorians were very important to triggering Mount Doom, right? Like that's basically they were the plot device to have Mount Doom explode. But otherwise really we, it was just sort of some introduction to some characters that are going to play important roles down the storyline. Instead, we had to have a whole McGuffin chase and a little bit of misdirection. And so it created the dramatic tension.
