The Number Three and Number Four Engines Are Not Found in the Main Wreckage
Several parts of the leading edge flaps and leading edge structur on the right wing were recovered on land along the original flight path. A little east of this area, the number three and four engines were found in a lake near the entrance of narden harbor. The engines were dredged from the lake with the pylons and many parts of their nose cowels and thrust reverses. Internal examination of the engines showed no abnormal signs of pre existing damage.
