Can You Print Tokens With a Cap?

I think that you can print tokens with a cap. So there nesed to be a finite supply of something. Our system requires printing tokens to work. But the token supply tends to infinity, and the token price trends to zero. I think you can use tokens to prop up part of a temporary system. As long as there is a design for a sound scheme that doesn't rely on constant di n because then just whos whose bidding, which means fees, right?
