The Role of Close Family and Friends in Loneliness in Older Women
Research shows that loneliness declines as people get older. Married women are less lonely than unmarried women, but contact with others does not reduce feelings of loneliness in these women. The biggest loneliness predictors for married women were how often they saw their closest relative and the emotional stress felt in that relationship.
