The Importance of Arthur Schopenhauer
Arthur Schopenhauer was born in 1788, a month after Byron for those keeping track. Gerta essentially looked around at what was happening in Europe and claimed for the German language all these fields that had not yet been established in German. This is of significance because it's a reminder of where we are in terms of romanticism which will become important later.
