F Friedrich Nietzsche accounted Thucydides among the most important authors of antiquity and one of the main influences on his thought. The historian is not a philosopher, at least not properly speaking,. He's not a philosopher in the narrow sense. There are some ideas that he generates, philosophical ideas he may generate in the course of interpreting history. But so why wouldThucydides then be so influential on Nietzsche, a philosopher?
