The Raven and Poe

Poe spent a lot of time growing up in England with John Allen. He has one of those accents that feels weirdly deep south, like can be difficult to place. While his life continued to just suck terribly at all these various points, he continually wrote a ton of stuff. Just 10 days after his birthday in 1845, he gains national fame with the Raven. And would he attain that kind of fame with a single work again? Never more.
