A lot of Christians assume if they don't have an answer that there's not an answer. If you're 19 and at a college what does a 19 year you'll know about church history or biblical studies? It was a little bit of a crazy thing to say but people do effectively make that argument. Part of it is just the conspiracy theorist, we always resonate with this idea that wow what if everything I thought was true is wrong or what if established religion is all alive then we've been duped.
