Danny Cevallos: There's no school for how to be a good podcaster so I basically need to create my own school. One of the things that I notice is like all right I'm gonna be listening to a lot of podcasts. And it's what I enjoy doing anyway Because I'm curious so when I hear in someone's voice This changed the way I think about myself or this is an interesting insight into the world. What do you really admire as a podcaster? Joe Rogan the way he is able to Sit with somebody and just let the conversation be whatever it is but also Get things out of them that are only inherent to him that he cares about.

David Perell is a writer and the creator of Write of Passage - an online writing school focused on building the next generation of internet citizens. In March 2020, I stumbled across David’s account and was blown away by his tweets. They were thoughtful and insightful. So when he suggested interviewing me at his brand new studio, I was honored.

In this conversation we spoke about some of my podcasting secrets, how I do my research, why I admire people like Joe Rogan, Tim Ferriss, Chris Williamson, and Taylor Rooks, the biggest area I believe I need to improve as a podcaster, and what I’m usually doing on Sunday at noon. Some of what we talked about I’ve never shared publicly, and it’s only because of David’s ability as an interviewer to get it out of me.
