Paul's Letters to Timothy

In second timothy, two 24 25, paul uses language like this. And what's close about it is the phrase, coming to a knowledge of the truth in both texts. In this verse, repentance does not ultimately depend on human self determination. It depends on the free gift of god to a person in the bondage of sin, satan. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to aknowledge of the truth. But here's what he says, the servant of the lord should correct his opponents with gentleness.
