He talks about why looking up to people like Brunel, Buckminster Fuller and then eventually Jeremiah Fry I think is his name. He switches from art to engineering and this is him talking about not relying on human judgment once more. In art, you place yourself at the mercy of human judgment and its odious courteous, human error and human weakness. In engineering and design, you are at the mercy only of natural law, physics and the market. They are cruel taskmasters but at least they are visible ones.
