The Redemptive Power of Christ Suffering
Christianity offers a response to suffering that doesn't deny the suffering or think that there's a way to fight against it. Redemptive suffering has a part for our lives, but the Catholic tradition is offered up in this sense as well. The idea that we're going to make the best possible utopia here has this realistic sense of 'we won't avoid all suffering personally' It can't be meaningless and so that's an important point about Christianity.
