Ancient Egypt and the Pyramids

My training is in settlement archaeology, and i'm really interested in the lives of everyday people. And to me, the pyramids, especially the pyramids at giza, are really extraordinary because they're symbols of the formation of the egyptian state and thebr racy. Wherever you are in the world, when you're angry about bureaucracy, you can blame pyramids. I guess it's proof that the thing kept standing, which i guess it's hard to do.
