Reddit co-founder Steve Huffman and his friend Paul Graham were brainstorming ideas for a new website. They decided to use the idea of delicious, a social bookmarking site that was popular with users who couldn't finish it all in one sitting. The next day they got a call from Paul saying he liked their idea but wanted to invest $12,000 so they could try something else. That's when Reddit became an internet sensation.
With $12,000 and a mascot named Snoo, two former college roommates designed a web site they hoped would become "the front page of the Internet." Today, despite growing pains, personal issues and persistent trolls, Reddit has over 300 million monthly users and is valued at 1.8 billion dollars. Recorded live in San Francisco.
