The Famine in Yemen
Queen Victoria came to be known as the famine queen for her government's utter failure. There is no evidence that she had any real compassion for the Irish people in any way. From a pre-famine population of almost 9 million Ireland's population post famine was less than 5 million. And it did not exceed 5 million again until last year.
