The Intentional Stante - When Do Things Have Purposes?

Dennett: Sometimes it is useful and illuminating to talk about these physical systems as if they have intents, intents. Idealism might be opposed to materialism or dualism as a theory of the relationship of the mind to the physical world. It's difficult to comprehend exactly where our space exists relative to other possible spaces. Could in fact be, as idealists may contend, much like a dream, where the actual space of the dream is in someone else's head in bed. I attach almost o credence to idealism.
