Soll was a self described marxis, self taught marxist. He would sit on the upper deck of this bus and just watch the neighborhoods change as the bus moved north. And he'd say, what just happened? Why does it look like this up here, verses where i started? Yi read the logy, i found it very inciteful. I first encountered in steve pinker's book, the blank slate. Soll influence steve quite a bit.

In a career spanning more than a half century, Sowell has written over thirty books, covering topics from economic history and social inequality to political theory, race, and culture.
