"I just didn't get that much from these movies, especially the later ones," he says. "It felt a little bit paint by number,. Like like it was made for the massive chinese audience who wants a spectacle ... and doesn't care as much about character development." The film earns an 11-hour stretch of time if you want to see it in its purest form - which is what this movie does.
