Is the Problem Really a Problem?
There's a study from the Mayo Clinic in which they found that the median duration of NP orders was 12.8 hours. And 20, 3.3 of the patients were, presented patients were completely avoidable NP orders and some of them were unavoidable. But bottom line is we are keeping them in PO longer than they need to be.
