The Role of Sleep in Mental Health Disease
Many of us have a sense that, you know, I just snapped dot dot dot. That's incredible change in the brain. A short sleep duration is usually predictive of either suicidal ideation, suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts and tragically suicide completion. We used to think in psychiatry that the psychiatric disease was perhaps causing the sleep disruption. Now we're finding significant links between sleep disruption and depression,. anxiety, including PTSD, schizophrenia, and most recently and tragically suicide as well.
