The Teaching of History in Public Schools Is a Political Project
The idea that we have to whitewash our history is very much coming from a group of people who are taking over the school boards and taking over right-wing states. It would be very unfortunate if the effort to redefine America in a much more conservative way became the official sort of curriculum in many parts of the country. Most Americans, both Republicans and Democrats want them to be taught what actually happened.
