The Importance of Migrants Sharing Information on WhatsApp
The policy was issued in the early days of the pandemic to stop the spread of COVID-19. It allowed authorities to swiftly expel migrants at US land borders. Now that it's lifted, migrants who were caught crossing the border illegally will no longer just be turned away. They could be banned from re-entry for at least five years or criminally prosecuted.
