Schema Therapy and the Therapeutic Relationship

The therapist client relationship can provide leverage and a lot of the therapeutic action in therapy. Most clients give their best if we give our best too, according to Schema therapy. We believe in the inborn will of the clients to give the best they can once we identified and sorted out the interfering critic mode beliefs. And this positive atmosphere leads to the low dropout rates that we have compared to all other borderline treatments. But there is a certain risk and maybe we come back to that later that therapists do too much.
