The Intermediate Position
There is an attitude towards social technology that is extremely common in technical communities, which views it as either completely impossible or a totally inevitable. But i think one should just reflect on the fact that the plausibility of those two things, sort of, from moment to moment, being equally true, might lead one to consider that the intermediate position might have some, you know, value to it.
