The Rise of Tipping in the Restaurant Industry

According to a survey by CreditCards.com, the number of people who always tip servers at sit down venues has been decreasing steadily from about 77% in 2019 to 73% in 2022. However, the tip percentage options on pay terminals are showing signs of increasing. Do you think it's purely contactless payments that's driving people to push up the number of customers that encourage the tip? Or is it something else? I think it's probably a little bit of more than one thing.
